Labour Law seminar on 17 of June 2025
On 17 of June 2025 the College`s lecturers and students of the Study Program “Tourism Services Organization” participated in the seminar “Current Issues in the Review of Labour Disputes. Skillful Reading of an Employment Contract to Defend Your Interests”. The Seminar was led by Mg. iur. Ināra Brante – a practicing lawyer, lecturer at several Latvian higher education institutions.
The following issues were analyzed at the seminar:
- The procedure for concluding an employment contract and an enterprise agreement;
- Making amendments to an employment contract – amending the employment contract, remuneration, determining remote work;
- Social protection;
- Cases in which the employer has the right to extend and/or reduce the probationary period;
- The employee’s right to freely determine the place of work;
- The employer’s form of notice and notification procedure;
- Problematic issues when terminating employment legal relations;
- Obtaining unemployed status in the event of insolvency, cessation of operations and liquidation of the company.
The College lecturers and students of the Study Program “Tourism Service Organization” gained valuable experience and knowledge about current issues of Labour Law. The knowledge gained will help both in the study process and in scientific and practical activities.
