Study Mobility
Erasmus+ study mobility allows students to spend an integrated study period in one of the partner universities of the Erasmus+ program member states. The program aims to provide students with valuable academic, linguistic and cultural experience while studying in other European countries.
Students who are registered for studies at the College and are not on academic leave can participate in study mobility. The minimum term of the exchange study period is 3 months, the maximum is 12 months.
Within the framework of one study level, a student can go on study and/or practice mobility for a total of up to 12 months. The study period is evaluated in ECTS credits. ECTS, or the European Credit Transfer System, helps to get an overview of higher education, compare it and recognize study results and ensure quality. Successful completion of the study period abroad requires that the Erasmus+ study period is recognized, evaluated with the number of credit points and counted in the College study period and the student’s progress.
The scholarship is intended to help cover travel, accommodation and other costs related to the study period abroad, but does not guarantee that all expenses will be covered.
Once a year, the Riga Management College announces the Erasmus+ program study scholarship competition for the next academic year's studies at the college's partner universities abroad, based on the regulations of the Erasmus+ scholarship competition.
The application for the Erasmus+ study grant competition must be submitted online. The link to the online application form is available here and is open during the tender period.
When preparing the application, please take into account the application preparation guidelines. After receiving the application, the partner university is contacted and the ECTS comparison process of the planned study takes place.
The most requested application documents:
- CV (in English)
- Motivation letter (in English)
- Portfolio (up to 10MB)
- Transcript of results (in English)
- Study contract
- Certificate on the level of knowledge of foreign languages
- Application for a place in the dormitories
- European Health Insurance Card (EHIC)
- Other documents (according to the internal regulations of each partner university)
After receiving and reviewing the application documents, the partner university sends an official confirmation of admission to studies (Letter of Acceptance).
Students should carefully study all the information intended for incoming Erasmus+ students (Incoming Exchange Students), which can be found on foreign universities' websites and describes what the student must do before arrival and what documents must be brought with him.
Before and after mobility, all Erasmus+ students have to take an assessment of their foreign language skills in the Online Language Support Tool (OLS).
To successfully settle all obligations with Riga Management College before participating in Erasmus+ study mobility, the student needs to complete the following formalities:
- Submit an application to the College management regarding studies abroad;
- The Erasmus+ Funding Agreement must be concluded;
- According to the College study contract's payment schedule, the current semester's tuition fee must be paid.
- The student must receive a Certificate of Attendance (CA) approval from the coordinator of the host university for starting their study mobility. The document must be sent in scanned form to the Erasmus+ coordinator of the College;
- If necessary, current amendments to the Learning Agreement (Learning Agreement) must be made;
- In the middle of the semester, it is mandatory to fill out the Transfer report form and send it to the Erasmus+ coordinator of the College in a scanned form;
- The Eramus+ coordinator of the College must be informed at least one month before the official mobility deadline, if the mobility period needs to be shortened or extended, so that amendments can be made to the Funding Agreement and the amount of the scholarship can be recalculated.
Internship Mobility
Erasmus+ internship mobility allows students to practice in foreign companies or institutions in one of the member states of the Erasmus+ program. Students who are registered for studies at the College and are not on academic leave are eligible for Erasmus+ internship mobility.
The aim of the Erasmus+ internship:
- To help students adapt to the labour market requirements of the European Union;
- To provide an opportunity to develop students’ skills, including language skills and get acquainted with the economic and social culture of the country in question, in the context of gaining work experience;
- To promote the development of well-qualified, open-minded and internationally experienced future professionals.
Erasmus+ internships can be carried out in foreign companies, training or research centres and other organizations, except EU institutions and bodies, organizations that administer EU programs, and diplomatic institutions (embassies) of the student’s country of origin. Find more information here.
The minimum term of the exchange practice period is 2 months, the maximum is 12 months.
Applications for participation in Erasmus+ internship mobility and candidate selection are organized and coordinated by the Erasmus+ coordinator of the College.
The College does not offer internships, so the student must find and negotiate an internship abroad (in Erasmus+ program countries).
The most frequently requested application documents for Erasmus+ internship mobility include:
- CV (in English);
- Letter of motivation;
- Certificate on the level of knowledge of foreign languages;
- European Health Insurance Card (EHIC).
Each candidate must submit to the coordinator a completed and signed College application form for the Erasmus+ internship and additional documents (depending on the state requirements of the partner university/company).
