Research Directions

Current Situation

In 2023, the Riga Management College (hereinafter referred to as the College) started developing a strategy for the development of scientific research activities for 2023-2028. The strategy for the development of scientific research activities is designed following the Law on Universities, the Law on Professional Education, the Law on Scientific Activities, the College Regulations, the College Development Strategy for 2023-2028, the Regulations on Scientific Research Activities in the College and other valid regulatory enactments. The development strategy of the College’s research activity for 2023-2028 is included in the College’s development strategy for 2023-2028 and is an integral part of it.

Aim

To develop the scientific research activities of the College and to increase research excellence in the supported research directions, numerically increasing the number of international conference presentations and publications by students and academic staff, as well as promoting the improvement of the quality of publications, research articles and conference reports.

Our Tasks in Research

  1. Carry out applied and market-oriented research, original research for the acquisition of new knowledge in the field of tourism.
  2. Conduct research in the social sciences, economics and business sub-science group, which includes economics, econometrics, collective labour relations, entrepreneurship and management.
  3. Promote and support the scientific research activity of the College’s students and academic staff in the specified research directions.
  4. Attract additional research staff to increase the College’s research excellence.
  5. Promote cooperation in the field of research with employers of certain sectors, employers’ associations and foundations, governmental and non-governmental sector organizations.
  6. Promote international cooperation with Latvian and European professional higher education institutions, research and knowledge dissemination organizations.
  7. Regularly organize student and international applied research conferences.
  8. Publish collections of conference and research articles regularly.
  9. Report on scientific research activities regularly and ensure publicity of scientific research activities.
