Step 1: Online Application

To start the admission process, the applicant has to fill in an online form, submitting all the necessary documents and personal data. The College asks for:
  • Documents certifying secondary education, such as graduation certificate and transcript of records (if the documents are not in English or Latvian language, a notarized translation into English must be provided as well)
  • If you have previously completed education at another university, you can submit an academic reference (transcript of records) to match the study courses.
  • Passport or ID card
  • Copy of a document stating your English proficiency (see possible tests and required scores below), if your mother tongue is not English. Please, be prepared to take an online interview for verification.
  • The College also welcomes any additional files that would support your desire to study. This may include a CV, Motivation letter, references from previous places of study or work, a digital photo of yourself, etc.
After submission, Riga Management College examines the provided information within 5 working days and contacts the applicant to inform them about further actions and procedures.

Step 2: Registration Fees

After the initial assessment of the documents, the College issues the registration fee invoice to proceed with the application.

The registration fee is 300 EUR (the application fee is non-refundable and you will need to cover the costs of any bank charges incurred). Online application is processed once the registration fee has been received. For faster service, candidates are welcome to send the receipt of the application fee payment to the e-mail uznemsana@college.lv.

Application for studies is open all year long, but please be aware of the deadlines for each semester:

Deadlines for the autumn semester (beginning in September):

  • July 30 – for applicants who need a visa
  • August 30 – for applicants who do not need a visa

Deadlines for the spring semester (beginning in February):

  • November 30 – for applicants who need a visa
  • January 31 – for applicants who do not need a visa

Step 3: Final Examination

After successful registration and fee payment, a student is requested to take a Skype interview and an online English test which is sent via the online application system or by e-mail within 2-3 working days.

When the test and Skype interview have been passed, the educational documents are submitted to the Academic Information Center (the assessment takes around 30-35 days). Meanwhile, a student starts preparing the documents for the visa and residence permit.

  • Application form for a residence permit request (find here)
  • 3 photos (3×4 size)
  • Bank statement with the indicated amount of 6500 EUR. Make sure that it has a stamp, signature, your name, date of birth, passport number and bank account number (IBAN).
  • Police clearance certificate (not older than 6 months). If you have been living in another country for more than 12 months, a police clearance statement also has to be provided from this country. Police clearance statement has to be legalized with apostille.
  • Educational documents (your educational certificates and transcript of records) – legalized with Apostille
  • If you have changed your name – Affidavit Copy with Apostille
  • If you have references from previous jobs, it is a big advantage for a positive decision.

Step 4: Study Agreement and Visa Support

At this stage, the student must sign the study agreement and the last page of the residence permit application.

At this point the statement from the Academic Information Centre is ready. After a positive decision, the student will have to make a 1-year tuition fee payment and security deposit payment to the college. Then the student receives a study contract.

Please note that the security deposit of 500 EUR is paid back to a student only upon successful completion of a whole 2-year programme.

The College issues the visa support file with an invitation number once the tuition fee has been paid. The student contacts the Embassy of Latvia to provide the invitation and arrange an interview.

Step 5: Welcome to Latvia!

When students arrive in Latvia, they submit the original documents to obtain the residence permit, visit the study department (on Valērijas Seiles St. 4, room 208), sign the study agreement and start their studies.

Throughout the whole process, the applicant can contact the College and we will provide assistance and support with the document preparation and guide you through all the steps until the status of a student has been finally obtained.
